On 3 March 2015 the Law No. 17/2015 was passed, accepting the 2009 Code for the Construction and Equipment of Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (2009 MODU Code), which was adopted by the Assembly of the International Maritime Organization by Resolution A.1023(26) on 2 December 2009, as well as the amendments to the 2009 MODU Code adopted by the Maritime Safety Committee of the International Maritime Organization by Resolution MSC.359(92) on 21 June 2013.
The 2009 MODU Code applies to mobile offshore units constructed on or after 1 January 2012.
The Ministry of Transportation of Romania shall pass the necessary measures for implementation of Law No. 17/2015.
